Crystal Super now in production

The Crystal Super starts shipping April 7th, and we have decided to extend the pre-order benefits to the whole month of April, the benefits being free DMAS headphones, shipping to selected regions, and the comfort topstrap. (Check the video update for more information).

In the video we also explain why, with these large QLED panels (here compared with micro-OLED), we can get a fantastic field of view without sacrificing the stereo overlap.

The Crystal Super is now in production and we can share the following pictures:

We have also released the 3D (STP) models for the lenses on the 50 PPD for third parties to make accessories such as prescription lenses.

The first Crystal Super 50PPD impressions are out

The Crystal Super 50PPD made its debut at the MRTV XR Hardware Showcase in Dortmund, hosted by MRTV. More reviews are expectec to come out soon:

  • VoodooDE in English and German: "This is insane. I tried DCS and it was a blast. It was really sharp, everything. You don't see any distortions and colors are clear."
  • Laubox: "I went straight into DCS and I was genuinely impressed by the clarity from the get-go. It was another level."
  • And of course Sebastian and Marco from MRTV here (part 1, part 2)

Nvidia RTX 50series and AMD 9070 (XT) GPUs

  • The 50series GPUs now work with all Pimax headsets, but on some PC configurations, vertical sync may still have some occassional micro-stutters. Nvidia has acknowledged this issue and will fix it in a new driver release.
  • AMD is also implimenting driver updates for the 9070 and 9070 XT GPUs. A temporary workaround for now is to use the 120 Hz mode on the Crystal Light, or to use the 90 Hz mode, disable in Windows 11:
    • Disable HAGS (Hardware Accelerated GPU Schedule)
    • Disable Windows Game Mode
    • Disable Optimizations for windowed Games
