12K QLED Trade-in Program
We're pleased to introduce our trade-in program for the flagship 12K QLED headset, designed to offer our valued customers an opportunity to upgrade seamlessly. Here are the details:
Eligibility
The following headsets purchased through Pimax-associated retailers qualify for trade-in:
Pimax Crystal, Crystal-Sim, 5K Plus, 5K XR, 5K Super, 8K, 8K Plus, 8K X, and Artisan.
Trade-In Value
The value of your trade-in is determined by the model of your headset and its condition. Here's a breakdown:
-
Crystal and Crystal-Sim: If purchased before April 15th, 2024, you may receive up to $800 for your trade-in once the 12K is available for sale, subject to the condition of your headset.
-
8K, 8K Plus, and 8K X: Your trade-in value is based on the original purchase price, adjusted for any damage or wear. A valid receipt or invoice is required, and the trade-in value cannot exceed the original price of the headset.
-
5K Plus, 5K XR: Your trade-in value is based on the original purchase price, adjusted for any damage or wear. A valid receipt or invoice is required, and the trade-in value cannot exceed the original price of the headset.
-
5K Super: You will receive a flat $900 for your trade-in.
*Please note: Pimax headsets received through the Mystery Box can only be traded in for the purchase price of the box.
Limitations
Each customer is limited to one 12K QLED headset through the trade-in program. For orders requiring more than one unit, please reach out to our service team to discuss your options. Special cases, including the need to purchase additional headsets via the trade-in program, will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Non-Functional or Poor Condition Headsets
Unfortunately, non-functional or significantly damaged headsets are not eligible for trade-in. However, with proof of purchase, you may still receive a discount coupon for the new Pimax 12K QLED. If you're uncertain about the eligibility of your headset, our upcoming trade-in portal will provide guidance and support.
If I want to purchase Crystal Super, can I use the trade-in value?
Eligible headsets can use part of their trade-in value for the Crystal Super. The only thing is that this does not stack with the discount offered for Crystal users. You can use up to 50% of your headset's trade-in value for the Super, up to 399 USD, and keep the remaining trade-in value for the 12K.
Please note that the trade-in value will be taken off Prime, not the base price of Crystal Super.
We're committed to making your upgrade experience as smooth as possible. Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact our customer service team. We're here to help you every step of the way.

Key Considerations
Performance and Compatibility
When it comes to visual performance, the Crystal Light, with its 16.5 million pixels and 35 PPD, stands out as one of the best clarity consumer VR headsets on the market today. Whether you're flying complex aircraft, racing at high speeds, or engaging in precision combat, the Crystal Light enhances the experience by delivering smooth, detailed visuals without overburdening your system. This means you don’t need the latest GPU to enjoy top-tier VR.
In contrast, the, with its 29.5 million pixels and 57 PPD, offers unprecedented retinal-level clarity. This level of resolution makes the line between the real world and the virtual world almost indistinguishable. The upgraded panel and lenses improve clarity, brightness, and contrast while providing more headroom for advanced GPUs and CPUs. To fully unlock the potential of this next-gen headset, you might need the latest GPU models. For users who prioritize ultimate VR performance and don't mind investing heavily, the Crystal Super is the ideal choice.
