On August 16th, the Pimax Global Roadshow arrived in Arlington, Texas, drawing a fantastic crowd. From first-time VR explorers to veteran flight sim pilots, the atmosphere was filled with energy, curiosity, and plenty of unforgettable first flights.
This stop was proudly hosted by Airbus Captain Marlon D. Choyce, a true VR and flight sim enthusiast. As both a professional pilot and a long-time Pimax supporter, Captain Marlon brought unmatched expertise and passion to the event, guiding attendees through the intricacies of virtual aviation with enthusiasm and insight.Although the Crystal Light was not available at this stop, guests had the rare opportunity to try both the Crystal Super and the original Crystal OG. Experiencing them side by side highlighted just how far the technology has advanced—brighter displays, a noticeably wider field of view, and cockpit detail sharp enough to set a new standard for PCVR.
Running DCS World and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, the Crystal Super station became the centerpiece of the event. Guests were quick to notice how every cockpit detail—gauges, switches, and instruments—came into focus with stunning sharpness, while the wide FOV provided a natural, panoramic perspective of the skies. Younger visitors described the experience as their “first time in a fighter jet,” while veteran sim pilots, some with decades of virtual flying under their belts, said it felt like seeing their favorite simulators reborn.
The diversity of the crowd gave the showcase a special energy: newcomers discovering VR for the first time, sim hobbyists comparing notes, and expert pilots discussing how the Crystal Super could redefine their daily flying routines. Together, it highlighted the very core of the roadshow—bringing cutting-edge VR directly to the community, and letting people experience the future of simulation for themselves.
