It’s been nearly a month since the launch of SuperOpen, and the community has already produced a steady flow of practical, inventive, and genuinely useful creations.
Here are several standout projects that highlight how developers and users are expanding what’s possible within the Pimax ecosystem.
1. Magnetic Controller Charging Dock by hellgiver
Community member hellgiver created a 3D-printed magnetic charging cradle for Pimax controllers.
No more cable juggling or awkward positioning—just drop the controllers in place and they snap into alignment.
A simple, elegant solution that improves daily usability.

2. Dino’s Facial Tracker Case (with Hidden LED / IR Channels)
Dino released a custom case designed specifically for his ongoing Pimax Facial Tracker project.
The enclosure includes hidden channels for LED or IR wiring, making it clean, compact, and much easier to use in low-light or nighttime play environments.
This combined design benefits both creators and VRChat users by enabling more expressive facial tracking while keeping the hardware tidy, discreet, and comfortable.
It’s a thoughtful example of user-driven hardware refinement born directly from community needs.

3. Lighthouse Faceplate Adapter for Crystal Super (by tallymouse)
Crystal Super does not currently ship with a Lighthouse faceplate, but tallymouse engineered a 3D-printed adapter that allows the Crystal OG Lighthouse faceplate to attach to the Super through the existing bulkhead connector.
This gives external-tracking users a community-built way to experiment with Lighthouse support ahead of official options.
And to clarify the official stance:
- Pimax has confirmed that a Lighthouse faceplate for Crystal Super is an active, ongoing official project, with updates provided through the official blog and announcements.
The community adapter isn’t a substitute—it's a natural outcome of an open ecosystem where users are free to prototype and explore.

These projects are only a small glimpse of what’s taking shape inside the SuperOpen community. New ideas, prototypes, accessories, and tools are being shared almost daily as members test concepts, iterate on designs, and help each other push Crystal Super’s modular ecosystem forward.
SuperOpen is still young, but the creativity already appearing shows how powerful a community can be when everyone is encouraged to build openly and experiment freely.
Right now, that spirit is in full motion with the first SuperOpen Creative Contest, where members can design their own Crystal Super add-ons for a chance to win major rewards—including a free Ultrawide or 57PPD optical engine. It’s a fun way for makers, developers, and enthusiasts to leave their mark on the ecosystem.
And during the contest period, anyone who picks up a Crystal Super using the SuperOpen code gets early-access perks designed specifically for builders:
access to the Open SDK, HDK, and 3D models, a free Pimax DMAS audio solution, and the chance to receive a free printed version of one of the community’s Top 3 designs.
Ifyou want to explore these creations, follow ongoing projects, or contribute your own ideas, the SuperOpen community is open and growing. There’s a lot happening—and it’s only just beginning.
