DCS World Settings for Pimax Crystal Super with RTX 4080 Super

The avid flight-sim player Chazz Barramundi has taken flight with the Pimax Crystal Super in DCS World, tweaking and testing various settings to get the most out of the Crystal Super, with a medium spec PC setup (4080 Super, AMD-5800X3D), and shared his advice on settings you can use to get the most out of your Pimax Super.

Vital settings tweaks

Enable Eye tracking

Combine the Pimax Crystal Super’s eye tracking with Quad Views Foveated to enhance what matters most, the resolution where your eyes are focused. After calibrating the eye tracking software in just minutes, the speed and quality of the Crystal Super means that you can increase your resolution above 125% and further if you’re happy to make some compromises. This means that switches, small labels and distant objects are clearer than ever. The areas in your peripheral vision will be down scaled to save on resources to enhance the resolution of what you’re focused on.

Locked in at 72 frames per second

The human eye has evolved to be able to see more than 30FPS, and this is even more achievable with the tools and enhancements made by the VR community and Pimax Play. Achieving a stable frame rate both on the ground and air is again thanks to the eye tracking and software available free of charge to tweak and get the best settings for your PC.

Ultra low latency enabled

With the advice and settings provided in the review, you’ll be ready to enable ‘ultra low latency mode’ which will deliver the most immersive VR experience possible for DCS, whether you’re brushing along the tree tops in an Apache, or busy spotting objects from 30,000 feet up. The depth of field you’ll gain from a Crystal Super will help make your landings butter and hopefully you’ll VRS a little less.

No base stations, no setting up additional cameras, it’s all in-built

I can’t say how happy I was to see that all I had to do was plug in the Pimax Crystal Super into my GPU, a USB-A version 3 port and a power source. Gone are the days of base stations and setting up cameras to track your movements and the Crystal Super delivers a great experience of following your movements as you look around the cockpit.
