MSFS 2024 Sim Update 4 Beta (1.6.3.0) | Huge Update for VR

The official MSFS 2024 released the latest Beta version update on September 8, 2025. VR Flight Sim Guy has tested this latest update in detail using the Pimax Crystal Super paired with an RTX 5090 GPU. You can watch his full video here:

Foveated Rendering Scaling – The Perfect Balance of Performance and Visual Fidelity

This technology renders the sharpest image only in the area you’re looking at, while reducing the resolution in the peripheral vision. This significantly frees up GPU resources. In the past, players had to tweak configuration files manually to achieve this—now it’s just a simple toggle inside the VR settings menu.

With the Pimax Crystal Super, this feature works seamlessly with its built-in eye tracking, ensuring that the area you focus on always remains razor-sharp. Even when the render scale is dropped to 0.4 or 0.3, both smoothness and image quality are maintained. Frame rates can now remain stable at 55–60 FPS, even under ultra-high settings, in complex aircraft, or over dense metropolitan areas.

One-Eye View – Finally Here!

For years, users have struggled to capture clean VR footage, often spending countless hours on recording and post-processing. With Sim Update 4, the One-Eye View feature makes it effortless. Just put on your headset, enter VR mode, and record crystal-clear footage—no complicated tricks or third-party tools required.

On the Pimax Crystal Super, this means you can directly share footage that looks nearly identical to the human eye’s natural view. Whether it’s the intricate cockpit instruments or the breathtaking skylines of major cities, everything is captured in the most natural and immersive way possible.

Performance Leap – Smooth Flying Even in Heavy Scenarios

Another major highlight of Sim Update 4 is its optimization of VRAM management and overall performance. Flying over dense cityscapes like London used to cause stutters and frame drops. Now, even when piloting highly demanding aircraft such as Black Square’s TBM 850, the 57 PPD native resolution of the Pimax Crystal Super delivers a consistently smooth experience.

The combination of QLED panels and Pimax’s ultra-clear optical system, together with the new optimizations, ensures every cockpit gauge and dial is crisp and legible. Even at low altitude over iconic landmarks, building textures and night lighting remain sharp and stable—no longer compromised by performance bottlenecks.

Sim Update 4 stands as a landmark moment in the history of Microsoft Flight Simulator. It not only provides VR pilots with smoother and clearer flying but also demonstrates the true future of virtual aviation.

With Pimax headsets, these advancements are immediately tangible:
  • Effortless content sharing with One-Eye View
  • Sharper, smoother visuals with foveated rendering
  • Rock-solid performance even in the most demanding scenarios

All of these improvements signal one clear message: the golden era of immersive VR flight simulation has truly arrived.
