The Outer Rim is a total conversion mod that transforms the Blade & Sorcery into the ultimate Star Wars simulator, featuring over 100 lightsabers, blasters, custom maps, and iconic helmets.
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to install it:
Prerequisites
Before starting, ensure you have the following:
-
A PCVR-compatible headset
-
Blade & Sorcery
-
A free Nexus Mods account (nexusmods.com)
Method 1: Install via Vortex
-
Download and install Vortex HERE
-
Open Vortex → Games → search "Blade and Sorcery" → click Manage
-
Go to The Outer Rim on Nexus Mods in your browser
-
On the Files tab, click Mod Manager Download — Vortex handles the rest

-
In Vortex, toggle the mod to Enabled then click Deploy Mods
-

Method 2: Manual Installation
-
On the same Nexus page, click Manual Download and save the .zip
-

Launch the game and check the equipment book

Troubleshooting Tips
-
Infinite Loading Screen: This usually happens if the mod version doesn't match the game version. Double-check that both are updated to the latest release.
-
Performance: The Outer Rim adds a lot of high-quality assets. If you notice a frame rate drop, try lowering the "MSAA" settings in the game's graphics menu to keep the experience smooth in high-resolution headsets.
-
Mod Conflicts: If you have other Star Wars mods installed, they may conflict with The Outer Rim. It is often best to let this mod handle the "Force" heavy lifting on its own.
May the Force be with you!
