Evo runs in parallel with mainline Pimax Play — a dedicated space to develop experimental features, time-limited projects, and tools for specific use cases. More room to try things.

Pimax Evo is a standalone client that runs alongside your regular Pimax Play. It's our lab for pushing VR software forward — new features, new possibilities, delivered to you first.

We are updating our return policy, starting May 6, 2025. Orders placed before this date will follow the previous one. Every newly purchased Pimax Crystal Light/ Crystal Super/ Dream Air from Pimax.com is covered by a 14-day return guarantee. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 3–5 business days after the inspection is completed.

If the returned product is not due to a product quality issue, the return shipping cost will be borne by the buyer.

You may choose to purchase the “Return Shipping Assurance” service to waive the return shipping costs.

Returned products will undergo factory-standard inspection and are not sold again as new.

12-Month Warranty

1. "After-Sales Service Region": Refers to the countries or regions where Pimax is able to provide after-sales services locally.

2. "Product": Refers to the Pimax virtual reality system, including only the VR headset, controllers, base stations, and base stations purchased from Pimax or authorized dealers or retailers within the "After-Sales Service Region" and included in the product packaging.

3. "Accessory": Refers to secondary components included in the product's packaging when purchased together with the product or separately purchased boxed accessories, including DP cables, chargers, data cables, DP extension cables, batteries, comfort head straps, USB hubs, earphones, face cushion brackets, fiber optic cables, hand tracking modules, DMAS earphones, and KDMAS earphones, provided that they are manufactured by or for Pimax and purchased from Pimax or authorized dealers or retailers.

4. "Warranty Period": For the "Product," it refers to 12 months (inclusive) from the date of receipt or activation of the product, whichever is later. If the product is not activated within 10 natural days  after receipt, the warranty period will start from the date of receipt. For "Accessories," it refers to 6 months (inclusive) from the date of receipt. In some countries/regions with specific legal regulations governing warranty periods, the warranty period shall comply with local laws and regulations.

Laptop Supported

The Crystal Light/Super works with laptops, as long as the laptop has a direct GPU output to MiniDP or USB-C port. You will need an adapter that supports DP 1.4a specification at 8K resolution at 60 Hz. In doubt, open Nvidia Control Panel, go to PhysX settings, and share a screenshot of what you see with our customer support.

FAQs

Yes. EVO is a completely standalone client that includes the standard client. You are free to switch between the two—settings, profiles and device pairings in Pimax Play remain unaffected.

Hand Tracking is only available on SLAM headsets. In the current release it is open to Dream Air and Dream Air SE.Crystal Light and Crystal Super support is coming in a later update.

The Sboys3 SteamVR native driver currently supports the Dream Air Lighthouse version only. Support for more Pimax headsets is actively under development — including Dream Air SE, Crystal Light, and Crystal Super, across both SLAM and Lighthouse variants.

For any technical issue through no fault of the user within the warranty, Pimax will replace the headset at no cost for the user. Any costs, including shipping , are covered by Pimax.

The warranty period starts from the date you receive the product.

No. The Crystal Super is a PCVR-only VR headset without batteries. It always needs to be connected by its DP cable, so it does not support wifi streaming or the 60G Airlink.

The Dream Air Lighthouse version is compatible with the following SteamVR controllers:
