Open feedback wanted
At Pimax we need user feedback. We bring early prototypes to roadshows and visit trade shows, we hold beta tests and give users access to lab features. We're active on Reddit and Discord and are always in touch with the community. We send out monthly user surveys and share those results internally to improve our products and services. We don't fool ourselves. If we look at the Crystal Super, even after the public demo unit, we have revised the lenses, the backstrap, foam, face interface, as well as software such as the local dimming and audio effect. And we're not done yet.

All user feedback helps us improve. Once you enter a company, you leave behind the world of the user and lose an objective look on the products you make. While we're experts at building PCVR headsets, users are experts at using them. So we need feedback, and also the community needs it, to help other people make an informed choice. I think we all want a healthy online community with users from all over the world from different cultures, who talk openly about PCVR products and how to use them. We learn from each other, and that includes our competitors. We all want PCVR to succeed.

So. We made a mistake. The invitation from last week, sent privately to three users, goes against all of those principles I just described. Those three private messages asking users to post a positive user experience for a reward did not go through our internal application process for approval, and does not reflect our company values. This is painful because we've been working so hard to improve all aspects of the company and this breach of trust undoes a lot of hard work.

Beyond these three private messages — which are now retracted, Pimax has never tried to influence reviews, be it from users, media, or content creators. We never want people to use anything except their own voice to describe using our products.

We want to make that clear, and we would also like to make it clear no influenced review has been posted online. All user experiences you see online are real.

Internally, we have taken measures to prevent this from happening, such as staff training and a reinforced internal application process for any outreach. These mistakes are painful, but they do help us grow.

In ten years of Pimax, we have made a lot of mistakes. We learn from this and we keep going. We keep growing. We keep focussed on PCVR where many other companies have given up. Making hardware is hard, so we do hope for your support.

Externally, we would once again like to invite everyone to share their honest Pimax experience. While our headsets have their benefits and downsides, we're proud of their performance and features. But all honest feedback is helpful to us and the community, deciding which headset to go for. If we as a company want to grow, improve, and gain your respect, there are no shortcuts.

So if we make mistakes, or have areas for improvements, please let us know. If you have areas you approve of, we would also like to know. All this helps with our direction for the future and allocating resources to improve our products and experience. This is our work ethic and nothing else.

We're always in the community, so we're easy to reach.
Please let yourself be heard to us and others.

Thank you.
