The first day of CES2025 meant the world's first taste of the Crystal Super, Pimax's upcoming 29 million pixel VR headset. The Super features a resolution of 3840x3840 per eye, with glass aspheric lenses providing 57 PPD at over 120° horizontal field of view, with an incredible brightness of 280 nits.
Pimax brought the Crystal Super DVT2 model (Design Validation Test #2) with the 57 PPD QLED optical engine, with all features such as local dimming 2.0, integrated audio, inside-out tracking, all features except eye-tracking, and more optimisations still to be made. This all in the run up before the Crystal Super's final PVT sample (Production Viable Test), which is being prepared in the Pimax factory ahead of mass production.
Media outlets including Heise, PC Mag, DDay, TechRadar, Skarredghost, and YouTube channels of Tyriel Wood and MRTV have been among the first to test the Super.
