Pimax Dream Air Impressions at CES 2026

CES 2026 was more than a hardware showcase for Pimax. It was an opportunity to hear directly from professionals and enthusiasts who depend on realism, performance, and immersion every day. From real-world racing drivers to game engine developers and leading tech media, the feedback we received at CES offered a powerful snapshot of where high-end PCVR stands today, such as the Pimax Dream Air, which also earned recognition as a TechRadar Pro CES 2026 Picks Award winner.

Watch the CES 2026 Pimax booth highlights here:

At the Pimax booth, we spoke with Indy NXT racing driver Evagoras Papasavvas, iRacing competitor Josh Edmundson, and Silvan Hau, engine programmer at Cloud Imperium Games (Star Citizen)—each bringing a unique perspective on how VR is evolving across simulation and gaming.

Two Racing Drivers’ Views on VR Realism

As a professional racing driver, Evagoras Papasavvas knows how critical vision and spatial awareness are on track. While he has used VR previously for training, his experience with Pimax headsets at CES stood out.

Alongside him, off-road racing driver Josh Edmundson explains how VR combined with the Pimax Crystal Super Micro-OLED and a Trak Racer rig delivers a major competitive advantage through superior depth perception, spatial awareness, and audio cues.

Star Citizen and the Future of VR Space Exploration

From racing to space, Silvan Hau from Cloud Imperium Games explained how Star Citizen recently introduced native VR support after years of deep engine optimization. A key milestone was transitioning to modern Vulkan-based rendering, which made it possible to add VR with minimal performance overhead. Looking ahead, Silvan teased advanced features such as dynamic foveated rendering, quad views, ray tracing, and deeper integration with eye and face tracking.

Editors’ and Content Creators’ Impressions

CES 2026 also drew strong reactions from global tech media and VR creators, many of whom highlighted the combination of visual clarity, lightweight design, and immersion:
