- Question: Do you need the controllers or base if you’re just going to play sim racing titles?
Answer: No base stations or controllers are typically required for flight or driving simulators. Generally people feel these games are more immersive if you have at least 1 base station.
- Question: What is the horizontal field of view? i know it says 200 degree diagonal field of view. i need the true horizontal field of view.
Answer: Horizontal is about 170 degrees and the vertical is about 115 depending a bit on your IPD.
- Question: Come with controller?
Answer: The headset does not include controllers or base stations. It is fully compatible with all Steam VR compatible controllers and base stations.
- Question: Is this pimax oled? if not which models are?
Answer: This headset uses our latest LCD panels and does not use an OLED panel.
- Question: Can I use pimax without pc like quest 2 only with wlan?
Answer: This is a PCVR headset and requires a cable connection via Display-port to your Windows 10 or 11 PC.
- Question: Does headset only mean that it is only the headset without controllers or does it mean that it has no glasses?
Answer: This is just the VR headset itself and does not include base stations or vr controllers. It is compatible with any Steam VR compatible controllers and base stations.
- Question: Are there controllers?
Answer: Valve Index Controllers, HTC Vive Controllers and Pimax Sword controllers are all compatible but not included.
- Question: Do I need a base station? or does these glasses without a base station make fun or sense?
Answer: Games such as Project Cars, Elite Dangerous, Microsoft Flight Simulator and most simulators don’t require base stations or controllers. Games such as Beat Saber and Half-Life Alyx do require base stations and controllers because they use room scale to operate. For best compatibility it is best to pickup at least 1 base station.
- Question: Can spectacle wearers use these vr glasses without problems?
Answer: Yes, Pimax 5K reserves enough space for wearing glasses and includes a thicker foam that allows glasses wearers to fit.
- Question: Will kdmas/dmas be compatible with pimax 5ks?
Answer: Yes, you can buy the KDMAS or SMAS head with or without strapes individually. There is also video installation guide that can help you quickly set it up.
- Question: What reaction time can be expected with the glasses? 20ms are too little for simracing?
Answer: Another customer reply：
“the exact reaction time is not known to me. I use the pimax mainly with DCS, Prepar3d and MSFS2020. recommend buying 2-base stations, which is different from one is considerable. for me it runs at 120 hz, with the middle fov, I find this much more pleasant than 200 fov and 90hz, so I don’t even get a touch of motionsickness, otherwise at 90hz there would be me in low flight with a view to the side directly evil. 200 fov are also not supported by every game, star wars squadrons has caused problems here, and the image overlaps at 200 fov. If you play simulations this is a clear purchase recommendation, helicopter flying makes now really moody, because the landings have become soooo easy. But would wait for an offer, because you have to buy the controllers and base stations with bluetooth gongle (to turn the stations on and off). and a 3080ti you should also own, then you really experience vr, everything under 60 frames does not provide a real 3d effect.

- Question: Which controllers are you using? or are there compatibility problems?
Answer: 5K Super can be compatible with HTC VIVE or VALVE INDEX controllers.
- Question: Is the pupil distance adjustable?
Answer: Yes, you will find the adjustable dial at the bottom right corner of Pimax 5ks. You can adjust between 58mm and 72mm IPD with this dial and there are also software adjustments available to fine tune it.
- Question: Do they come in black?
Answer: No, just dark blue.
- Question: How does head tracking work? Do you have to set up extra sensors here like the htc vive?
Answer: Pimax headset include a gyro that allows head tracking without base stations. For the best experience though it is best to buy at least 1 base station.
- Question: What is the refresh rate and field of view?
Answer: This Pimax headset (the 5K Super) can refresh at up to an amazing 180Hz which is best used in fast reaction time games such as Beat Saber. The diagonal field of view is about 200 degrees.
- Question: Can I adjust the distance between eyes?
Answer: Yes there is a dial on the headset that allows you to adjust your IPD anywhere between 58mm and 72mm. You can also fine tune with software IPD.
- Question: Can you install even if you have glasses?
Answer: Yes we include a thicker foam that allows glasses wearers to fit typically sized glasses inside the headset.
- Question: Can you move with the HP reverb G2 handle?
Answer: Only SteamVR base station compatible controllers are compatible. This includes the Index controllers, HTC Vive Controllers and the Pimax Sword controllers.

Ich hab mir nach langer Überlegungen endlich die 5k Super geholt und muss sagen das es eine gute Entscheidung war. Die VR Brille ist top und auch die Grafik ist echt genial. Aber auch der Support von Pimax ist klasse.

最初は少しずつ慣れる必要がありましたが、IPDとコンテンツをセットアップしてからは不思議です。私はPimaxのFOVが大好きです。
VRにとって、120HZと200°FOVを持っているのは絶対に贅沢品だ。
このヘッドセットを強くお勧めします。

I’ve always used VR for sim racing, but have had problems with a lack of field of view, even causing accidents where someone was in my blind spot.
This headset gives a wide field of view, and I can now fight with others lot closer whilst being able to see them in the corner of my eye.

I heard a lot about the Pimax headsets FOV that I decided to purchase one here.
In fact, I have both Index and Reverb G2.
The FOV is a major upgrade from my old headsets, amazing immersive experience.

I just received the machine and tried it. It leaks a little light, but it is better than Quest 2.
Maybe my nose is small, and there are no other big problems.
