Can you buy an 8K X headset from Amazon and still get the cost taken from the Reality 12K?

Dear Fenney, Christopher,

As long as you purchased the device from our official or official distribution channels or can provide proof of purchase information, you can participate in the 12K exchange activities, please note that some models can not participate in the exchange, please refer to our official information for details.

The 12k is not in your store. When will it be released and how much will it be?

Hi @jackflash

We are currently launching the Crystal and Pimax Portal with QLED+Mini LED screens or LCD screens, we are not quite sure if you want to ask about these two devices?

Sincerely.

Yes I do. I saw your video on the Crystal. As stated I am not a gamer. I would use this for watching media content only. Of course I still want the immersive experience because thats the whole purpose of watching VR. Putting aside the cost which would you recommend for this usage? The Crystal or the 8k?  Do I still get the immersive experience in the Crystal because you are still calling the product VR even though the fov is larger in the 8k?

Hi @jackflash

If we are thinking in terms of usage needs (viewing media content), I would recommend Crystal, whose main features are ultra-high definition and the pursuit of the most realistic colour reproduction. The 8KX, on the other hand, focuses on high resolution, 200° FOV, and high refresh rates for a combined immersive performance.

So if you are looking for picture performance then Crystal is superior, if you are looking for immersion then the 8KX series still holds the edge for now.

Sincerely.

Ok Thanks. Last question. Do I need to use controllers if I”m just watching content? or do you have remote control I would use? As far the interface I hear Skybox is very good. What do you think?

Got a real good question for you. How would you compare the view between viewing a 77” tv from 15 ft away with each of the two lenses on the Crystal?

Hi @jackflash

Firstly, the question of whether you need a controller or not. If you are just for watching video then that can be done without the controllers, the inconvenience is that you have to sit in front of the PC in order to control the keyboard and mouse (to operate functions such as fast forward or pause). However, if you have the controllers you can operate it remotely (the 8KX series may require an additional base station to locate it, Crystal does not).

With regard to the controllers, for the Crystal, two controllers are included in the set (purchased on the official platform) and no base station is required. For the conventional 8KX series we recommend using the Sword controller and the Index controller with base stations.

The Skybox player is great, and we also recommend the DeoVR Video Player. note that SteamVR also has a built-in media player, which you can also launch from the SteamVR menu.

Sincerely.
