Watch the video here:

The production of the Crystal Super had a slower start than we had hoped for. And we fully understand the frustration from our users about this.

Even though we started mass production in March, we are still busy fulfilling pre-orders. We're facing not just a huge order amount, but we have also faced several bottlenecks in productions, such as a severe QLED panel shortage in May. We did not opt for lower-grade panels, but strictly adhered to Tier 1 panels. Yet this delayed our entire production for the Crystal Super.

Those shortages are resolved since last month, and we've also redirected part of the assembly line of the Crystal Light to assist with producing the Crystal Super, to catch up the delay. Every day we're doing final inspection on hundreds of Crystal Super's in our headquarters, before shipping them out. We're working hard, but not rushing.

It's of course not just the Crystal Super 50 PPD we're talking about. We have finalized the 57 PPD QLED. We'll do a deep dive into this optical engine later, but these glass aspheric lenses have been refined since CES in January. Not just the shape but also the position. They now provide excellent sharpness across the full lens. We'll soon have batches of these ready for external beta testing.

Then there's also the Ultrawide, that uses the same lenses and panels as the 50 PPD, but at a slightly tweaked position and a different rendering profile. Both the Ultrawide and 57 PPD have now fully functional eye-tracking, which we have extensively tested by now.

Both are about to start mass production. What helps is that the headset for the largest part is the same, it's only the optical stack in these optical engines that are different. The dates you see on the left are production times, and in the table you see which orders from before which date, will be produced.

Originally we said all pre-orders before May 2025 will be shipped in June, and pre-orders after that to be shipped in July. We achieved this for many pre-orders, but not all. And it's now July 4th.

For all these affected orders that we did not ship before July, we're adding an extension of warranty of three months. This is on top of the pre-order benefits, such as:
  • DMAS headphones
  • A new improved face interface with more comfort and stronger magnets
  • Two pieces of face foam including the new 'ice silk'

Meanwhile, we would also like to formally apologize for announcing too optimistic shipping estimates. But we think the wait will be worth it, with the most advanced PCVR headset coming your way.
